Iryna, her husband, two children. Her daughter is 19 years old. She helps mom on the farm, both live together. The woman’s son is 27 years old, he lives separately. Husband: currently not living with the family.
House and farming:
Iryna and her daughter live in the house. They take care of the household, keep 8 cows and 4 calves. Recently they bought 2 piglets. Before the war, the family had about 15 chickens and 2 pigs. The family is able to cultivate about 0.7 hectares of land, although the area before the war was 1 hectare. The main income of the family is the sale of dairy products.
Story:
Iryna and her daughter were always on the territory of the house during the fighting. On March 7, the first shelling of the village took place.
On March 8, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered their village.
After March 11, 2022, the family left home and moved across the field to a nearby hamlet village to their relatives, where the russian military soon arrived. Every day russian soldiers came to the house and counted whether all the inhabitants were there if no one had escaped. Every day Iryna was forced to run under shelling across the field to milk the cows.
On March 15, 2022, the rocket hit the barn directly, as a result of which the barn, summer kitchen and storage room were destroyed. The blast smashed windows in the house and shattered the walls. Two pigs and chickens died. Cows and calves ran to the field, where they are today.
On March 26, 2022, Ukrainian military asked Iryna not to come to the cows anymore, because it got very dangerous.
On March 30, 2022, the Russian military retreated.
01.04.2022 Iryna and her daughter returned home.
Urgent needs of the family:
Rebuild the barn for cattle, the summer kitchen where Iryna can do household chores, process and store products for sale: milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, etc.
