Strike on grain trucks

  • russians launched a missile attack on a convoy of grain trucks on the Sumy-Kharkiv route near the village of Verkhnia Syrovatka.
  • 23-year-old truck driver was killed and 4 other drivers were wounded.
  • One truck caught fire and about 20 others were damaged.

  • russia launched an attack on a civilian cargo ship in the Black Sea transporting wheat for Egypt.
  • There were no human casualties.
  • Global wheat prices surge after this attack on grain ship.
  • December wheat futures rose by 2.2% .
  • Wheat futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange have risen to US$5.9175 per bushel, the highest since July 2024.

 

Harvesting

  • 39.06 mln tons of the new crop was harvest on area of ​​10.9 mln ha.

Planting

Export

  • The limit volume of wheat exports for 2024/25 MY is set at 16.2 mln tons. The memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and market participants on September 3, 2024.
  • During the first two months of the season, the shipment of wheat amounted to 3.8 mln tons – 23% of the determined volume.

 

  • During the period from January to August 2024, the ports handled 41.7 mln tons of agricultural products, which is 62% of the total cargo turnover.
  • In 2023, the ports handled 61.9 mln tons of cargo, of which 48.9 mln tons were agricultural products (79% of the total).
