April 30, 2025

  • On the night of April 30, russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones.
  • Kharkiv and Dnipro came under enemy fire.
  • Forty-seven people were wounded. A 54-year-old man has been killed.

 

Planting Season 2025
May 9, 2025

As of May 9, over 9.5 mln ha have been planted with spring crops, which is 70% of the planned area, including:

  • Corn — 2.9 mln ha (73%)
  • Barley — 733.4 K ha (94%)
  • Spring wheat — 212.6 K ha (93%)
  • Peas — 208.9 K ha (96%)
  • Oats — 157 K ha (97%)
  • Buckwheat — 16.3 K ha (18%)
  • Millet — 15.7 K ha (20%)

Planting Season 2025

 Technical crops have been planted on an area of 5.2 mln ha, which is 66% of the forecast:

  • Sunflower — 3.5 mln ha (69%)
  • Soybeans — 1.3 mln ha (55.9%)
  • Sugar beets — 217.1 K ha (99%)

 

Export
May, 2025

The export of grain and leguminous crops in the 2024/25 MY amounted to 36.2 mln tons, which is 6.7 mln tons or 16% less than in the same period last season.

  • Wheat exports amounted to 14.2 mln tons (13% less than last year).
  • Thus, 88% of the total wheat volume agreed upon in the grain memorandum (16.2 mln tons) has been exported.
  • Barley exports amounted to 2.28 mln tons (2% more than last season).
  • Rye shipments reached 10.8 K tons, which is 8 times more than last season.
  • Corn exports exceeded 19.2 mln tons (19% less than last season).
  • Flour exports amounted to 59.9 K tons, which is 32% less than last season.

 

In April, dairy exports amounted to almost 12 K tons worth $38.68 million.

Among the main export products:

  • Butter — 33%
  • Condensed milk and cream — 26%
  • Ice cream — 18%
  • Cheese — 15%

 

Exports by Road

May, 2025

  • The volume of agricultural exports from Ukraine by road in April amounted to 293.5 K tons, which is 9.6% less than in March.
  • The decrease in the passage of agricultural products was observed at all borders.
  • The largest decrease was recorded at the Slovak border — by 20.5%, to 15.5 K tons.
  • Agricultural exports through Romanian and Polish border crossing points decreased by 15.8% and 8.6% — to 71.2 K tons and 122.6 K tons, respectively.
  • The smallest drop in export volumes was recorded at the Hungarian and Moldovan borders, where the indicators decreased by 3.5% and 1.3% — to 37.6 K tons and 46.1 K tons, respectively, experts state.
  • The main export goods for the month were sunflower oil — 31.4 K tons, sugar — 26.3 thousand tons.
