Decline in grain harvest
According to Agriculture Minister Vitaliy Koval, Ukraine’s 2025 grain output could drop from 56.7 mln tones to 51 mln tones, a reduction driven by both wartime risks and weather delays:
- Oilseed production (sunflower, rapeseed, soybean) is projected to decrease by around 5%.
- Wheat is expected between 20–22 mln tones, corn at ~26 mln tones, barley 4.5 mln tones, and sunflower seeds 11.5 mln tones.
Harvesting
As of July 11, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 919.9 K ha of early grains and legumes, yielding 2.62 mln tons of grain:
- Wheat – 434.8 K ha, 1,238.7 K tons;
- Barley – 364 K ha, 1,153.7 K tons;
- Peas – 119.7 K ha, 225.1 K tons.
- Rapeseed is being harvested in 9 regions. So far, 290.1 K tons have been collected from 178.9 K ha.
Export
As of July 11, 2025, Ukraine has exported 395 K tons of grains and legumes in the 2025/2026 marketing year – 3.8 times less than the same period last season (1.5 mln tons).
- Wheat exports totaled 140 K tons – more than three times lower than last year.
- Barley exports totaled just 2 K tons, compared to 186 thousand tons at the same point last year.
- No rye has been exported since the start of the season.
- Corn exports amounted to 251 K tons – 3.3 times less than last year.
- Flour exports from Ukraine totaled 1.7 K tons, 22% below last year’s figure.
- The 2024/2025 export season ended on June 30.
- Ukrainian farmers produced 78.7 mln tons of grains and oilseeds, with 46.7 mln tons exported (excluding processed products).
- According to customs data, exports of grains and oilseeds in the 2024/2025 season totaled $11.2 billion (vs. $10.76 billion in 2023/2024).

- Detailed analyses of soil and plant health, conducted by specialists from the U.S., Germany, Canada, Australia and Ukraine;
- Discussions on precision agriculture and digital tools for effective farm management.
The event provided valuable insights to Ukrainian farmers amid ongoing challenges.
