Attack on Zaporizhzhia

  • russian forces have attacked the city on the morning of 18 August, injuring 17 people.
  • They were trying to hit the city’s critical infrastructure.
  • Three people have been killed.

 

Attack on Kharkiv

  • russian hit the city on the morning of 18 August.
  • Four of the UAVs struck a five-storey building, causing structural destruction and fires.
  • Shaheds approached it from different directions and specifically struck at people who were sleeping peacefully at five in the morning.
  • Seven people are known to have been killed in the attack, including 2 children. Another 20 people were injured.

Shelling of Ukraine

Ukraine has withstood the strike of 6,000 missiles and 48,000 drones, and Ukrainian defenders destroy the occupiers every single day.

Export

As of August 18, total grain and legume exports from Ukraine in MY 2025/26 amounted to 2.98 mln tons, which is 2.5 times less than last season’s 5.5 mln tons.

  • Wheat: 1.7 mln tons (half of last year’s volume).
  • Barley: 463 K tons (1,1 mln tons on the same date last season).
  • No rye has been exported since the beginning of the season.
  • Corn: 835 K tons (2.6 times less than last season).
  • Flour: 6.3 K tons (32% less).

 

Ukraine exported 84 mln tons of grain during the two years of operation of the sea corridor.

 

Railway grain shipments

  • During the first 12 days of August, 1.004 mln tons of grain were transported by rail, which is 3.1 times more than in July.
  • Of this volume, 923 K tons were exported, almost 94% of which were sent to ports.

Harvesting

The lack of precipitation in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine destroyed 0.5 mln ha of oilseed and grain crops.

  • As of August 12, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 24.8 mln tons of early grains and legumes from 6,186.6 K ha, completing 55% of the sown area.

Breakdown by crop:

  • Wheat: 18,985.7 K tons from 4,396.2 K ha
  • Barley: 4,732.0 K tons from 1,247.2 K ha
  • Peas: 573.5 K tons from 230.3 K ha
  • Other grains and legumes: 513.1 K tons from 310.8 K ha
  • Rapeseed: 3,014.5 K tons from 1,184.8 K ha
