Drone Strikes on Dnipro 

September 30, 2025

  • russian drones attacked the city center, killing one person and injuring 28 civilians, including a 10-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl.
  • 12 people were hospitalized.
  • The strike damaged around 20 residential buildings, a medical center, a dental clinic, a museum, a lyceum, and university facilities.

Russian Attacks on Railway Infrastructure

October 4

Shostka, Sumy Region

  • russian drone strike targeted the Shostka railway station, hitting two passenger trains.
  • One person was killed, and 30 others were injured, including passengers and railway workers.
  • The attack caused significant damage to the station and rolling stock.

October 7

Nizhyn, Chernihiv Region

  • russian drones attacked the Nizhyn district, targeting the Nosivka-Nizhyn railway station.
  • The strike led to delays in train traffic, with some services temporarily suspended.

October 9

Chernihiv Region

  • russian forces launched multiple strikes across the Chernihiv region, including attacks near railway stations.
  • These assaults resulted in infrastructure damage and disrupted train services.

Russian Attacks Across Ukraine

On the night of October 5, russian forces launched a large-scale attack using shahed drones, cruise missiles, and guided bombs, hitting multiple regions.

  • Zaporizhzhia

Fires at industrial and residential sites; one killed, several injured; widespread power and water outages.

  • Lviv Region
    A family of four, including a 15-year-old girl, was killed in the missile strike.
  • Chernihiv
    Industrial facility and energy infrastructure damaged; localized power outages.
  • Ivano-Frankivsk

At least 16 homes damaged, including broken windows and cracked walls.

Russian Strikes on Energy Infrastructure

  • On October 10, russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure using over 450 shahed drones and 30 missiles.
  • Nine regions were affected, leaving over 1 million households without electricity.
  • Casualties included two people killed and more than 20 injured.
  • The strikes caused fires, damage to residential buildings, and widespread disruption of power and water supply.

Nuclear Situation

Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant

October 1, 2025

  • russian attacks on energy infrastructure in Slavutych, Kyiv region, caused a blackout at Chernobyl NPP.
  • The New Safe Confinement lost power, and repair crews worked to restore electricity for the plant and local residents.
  • Power outages also affected parts of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

October 6, 2025

  • On September 23, 2025, the last power line connecting the plant to Ukraine’s grid was cut, leaving ZNPP fully isolated.
  • For over two weeks, the plant has been running only on diesel generators.
  • Diesel generators support critical safety systems, but are not designed for long-term operation.
  • IAEA and international experts warn that prolonged blackout increases nuclear and radiological risks.

Natural Disaster in Odesa Region

  • Heavy rains and flash floods in Odesa region caused 10 deaths, including a child and a family of five.
  • Emergency services rescued and evacuated over 380 people from flooded areas.
  • Hundreds of buildings were damaged, including both private houses and apartment blocks.
  • Roads and bridges were washed out, sewage and pumping stations stopped functioning, and large parts of the city lost electricity and water supply.
  • More than 15,000 cubic meters of water were pumped out from underground parking areas.
  • Dozens of cars were destroyed or submerged.

Damage to Agriculture
October 3, 2025

  • On the night of October 3, russian forces launched a drone attack on a pig farm in the Novovodolazka community of Kharkiv region.
  • Approximately 13,000 pigs were killed, with only about 10% surviving.
  • The attack involved around 20 shahed drones, some hitting the same structures multiple times.
  • One worker was injured, and firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

 

Agricultural News

Export

  • The volume of grain and legume exports from Ukraine in the 2025/26 MY totaled 7.2 mln tons.
  • This is 4.55 mln tons or 39% less than on the same date last season.
  • Wheat exports reached 5.1 mln tons, 25% less than last year.
  • Barley exports amounted to 939 K tons, 39% less than last year.
  • Only 0.2 K tons of rye were exported, dozens of times less than the 10.5 K tons exported last season.
  • Corn exports totaled 978 K tons, three times less than last year.
  • Flour exports from Ukraine reached 16.9 K tons, 20% less than last year.

     

 

Railway Export

  • During the first seven days of October, 550 K tons of grain cargo were transported by rail (30% less than in 2024).
  • From January to September 2025, 21.011 mln tons of grain were transported by rail, 30% less than in the same period of 2024.
  • Grain exports by rail decreased by 27.7% overall.

Planting

October 7, 2025

  • Ukrainian farmers have planted 3,557.0 K ha of winter crops, which is almost 50% of the forecasted area.forecasted area.
    • Winter wheat – 2,346.8 K ha
    • Winter barley – 179.2 K ha
    • Winter rye – 45.7 K ha
  • The leading regions in winter grain planting are Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Poltava.
  • Winter rapeseed has been planted on 985.3 K ha.

Harvesting

October 10, 2025

Ukrainian agricultural producers have harvested over 55 mln tons of grains, pulses, and oilseeds.
More than 33 mln tons (67% of the planned area) of grains have been threshed from 7.67 mln ha.

  • Wheat – 22,623.6 K tons from 5,020.3 K ha
  • Barley – 5,314.7 K tons from 1,345.6 K ha
  • Peas – 627.5 K tons from 266 K ha
  • Corn – 3,452.3 K tons from 638.2 K ha (15% of the planted area)
  • Other grains and pulses – 882.3 K tons from 316.2 K ha

Harvesting of wheat, barley, and peas has been completed.

12.43 mln tons of oilseeds have been harvested, including:

  • Sunflower – 6,347.7 K tons from 3,433.3 K ha
  • Soybeans – 2,767.3 K tons from 1,214.71 K ha
  • Rapeseed – 3,310.4 K tons from 1,275.6 K ha

Overall, sunflower has been harvested from 67% of planted areas, soybeans56%, and rapeseed – fully completed.

Sugar beet harvest reached 3.44 mln tons from 69.1 K ha, covering 35% of planted areas.
