  • In the period of December 30, 2025–January 27, 2026: russian forces gained 106 square miles of Ukrainian territory.
  • In 2025, the average monthly rate of Russian gains was 171 square miles.

 

Massive Attack on Ukraine

January 20

  • russian forces conducted massive attack on Ukraine with ballistic and cruise missiles and more than 300 drones.
  • Themain target was the energy infrastructure.
  • The most damage was cause to Kyiv and Kharkiv.

January 24

  • russia attacked Kharkiv with 25 Shahed drones, injuring 31 people, including two children.
  • The attack lasted nearly two and half hours. Apartment buildings, houses, dormitory, two medical facilities, businesses were danaged. The energy infrastructure was targeted.

January 26

  • Drone and missile strikes on Kharkiv’s energy objects. It cut off the electricity for 80% of Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast.
  • The attacks injured three people and damaged two schools in the Industrialnyi district of Kharkiv.

January 27

  • Drone attack on Odesa.
  • 22 injured, people trapped under rubble.

 

Attack on the Train with Сivillians
January 27, 2026

  • russia launched a drone attack on a passenger train in the Barvinkove community in the Kharkiv oblast.
  • Five people have been killed and several injured.

Heavy Attack on Energy Sector
‘Record number of missiles’ hit Ukraine leaving thousands with no heating in -20C

  • On the night of 2-3 February, russia carried out its heaviest attack on Ukraine’s energy sector since the start of the year.
  • The strikes hit combined heat and power plants and thermal power plants that were operating only to provide heating in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. DTEK’s thermal power plants were also severely damaged.
  • A DTEK facility in Odesa oblast was also attacked with missiles and drones, leaving thousands of people without electricity.
  • More than 70 ballistic and cruise missiles were fired together with 450 drones which are used to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defences.

    December 6: 653 drones and 51 missiles

    December 23: 635 drones and 38 missiles

    December 27: 474 drones and 40 missiles.

Export

February, 2026

  • Exports of grains and legumes from Ukraine in January of the current year totaled nearly 3.2 mln tons.
  • This is 106 K tons or 3% less than in the same month of the previous season (3.3 mln tons).
  • Wheat exports in January amounted to nearly 499 K tons, which is 40% less than in the previous season..
  • Barley shipments to foreign markets totaled 15 K tons, 77% less than in the previous season..
  • Corn exports reached 2.66 mln tons, which is 12% higher than in the previous season.
  • Flour exports amounted to 4.2 K tons, 30% less than in the previous season.

 

Ukrainian Sea Corridor (January 23)

Since the launch of the Sea Corridor in 2023, Ukrainian seaports have handled 100 mln tons of grain cargo.

Meat Exports

  • Ukrainian poultry meat exports in 2025 totaled 458.1 K tons, with revenue exceeding $1.149 bln.
  • The main buyers of Ukrainian products in 2025 were the Netherlands (17.4%), Saudi Arabia (9.9%), Slovakia (7.6%), and the United Kingdom (11.9%).
