DEMINING OF THE FIELDS
UKRAINE IS GOING TO RETURN UP TO 35% OF AGRICULTURAL LAND  TO USE THIS YEAR

  • More than a third of the agricultural lands of priority return have  been checked and demined (as of July 11, 2023).
  • Since the beginning of the year, more than 160,000 ha (out of  470,000 ha) have been checked and demined (the Ministry of  Economy).

In particular, the following were examined:

  • Kharkiv oblast— 135 hectares;
  • Chernihiv oblast— 393 hectares;
  • Mykolayiv oblast— 1,019 hectares;
  • Kherson oblast — 1,968 hectares.

Only 6% of agricultural land has been  demined in Kyiv oblast.

Ukraine needs at least 300-400 automated  demining complexes to demine all  agricultural land in two seas.

GENERAL SITUATION

The Army Forces of Ukraine  advance around the city of  Bakhmut.

There is also slow progress in the eastern Donetsk and south-  eastern Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

THE GAINS OF UKRAINE AND RUSSIA  COMPARED

The ISW has calculated that  Ukrainian forces have recaptured about 253 square kilometres of territory since the  beginning of the counter- offensive on 4 June.

BLACK SEA GRAIN INITIATIVE

Since the beginning of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, about 33mln tons of  agricultural products have been exported.

One of the key demands of russia regarding the continuation of the “grain  corridor” is the return of Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT banking system.

Government officials say that if the “grain  corridor” is not extended, the state is  considering alternative routes.

  • Shipment of corn increased by a quarter  compared to the previous season (up to  29 mln tons).

The development of the Bystre estuary  on the Danube will increase grain exports  by 1 mln tons.
