  • Russian forces committed nearly 23,000 war crimes in Kyiv oblast.

Situation is difficult around Chasiv Yar.

  • russian forces intensified their efforts to seize Chasiv Yar.
  • Chasiv Yar lies around 10 km (six miles) west of Bakhmut and 50 km (31 miles) north of Avdiivka. These two settlements that russia captured in May 2023 and February 2024, respectively.
  • Chasiv Yar remains under our control; all enemy attempts to break through to the settlement have failed,” Syrskyi said on Facebook.

 April, 2024. Attack on Kharkiv.

 

  • Kharkiv is under heavy shelling recent days.
  • March 27: The city was hit by aerial bombs – for the first time since 2022. 1 person killed; 16 injured.
  • April 4: First russia struck a residential building, killing a woman. Then it targeted rescuers, who faced the second drone strike. Three of them were killed. A rescuer, a police officer, and a nurse got injured.
  • April 6: russia targeted residential building with Shahed drones (a 14-story high-rise building). The total death toll stands at four people, including an emergency nurse.

April , 2024. Attack on Zaporizhizhia.

  • The russians have changed their bombing tactics, now using the double-tap technique.
  • Following its use in Kharkiv earlier this week, Zaporizhzhia was targeted on April 5.
  • Three people were killed, with russia striking again as police, rescuers, and journalists arrived on scene.

 March 22, 2024. Attack on Ukrainian energy.

  • russia destroyed the Zmiiv thermal power plant in Kharkiv oblast during a large-scale attack on March 22. The attack destroyed all its units and damaged supporting equipment.
  • The russian attack on the Ukrainian energy system on March 22 was the largest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. A number of thermal power plants, as well as the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhia, were hit.
  • The Ukrainian energy company DTEK reported losing about half of its generating capacity due to the attack.
  • It caused losses of at least € 90-100 million.
  • As of March 25, about 200,000 households in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-biggest city, were left without electricity.

Export

  • Since the beginning of the 2023/24 MR, grain exports fell by 8% compared to last year’s figure to 34.8 mln tons.
  • The main export crop remains corn — almost 54% (18.7 mln tons).
  • Since the beginning of 2024, out of 17 mln tons of agricultural exports, only 12% was exported by land transport through neighboring EU countries.
  • More than 70% of agricultural products were shipped through the ports of Great Odessa.
  • Almost 90% of the export of agricultural products in March was provided by water transport:

Sea – 5 mln tons

Danube – 1,1 mln tons

  • In March, 3.2 mln tons of grain cargoes were transported by railway for export.

 

Planting season
In total, 852.1 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have already been planted on the territory controlled by Ukraine. Of which, in particular:

Ukrainian farmers also sow oil crops. In particular, sunflowers are already being sown in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi oblasts. A total of 35,700 ha have already been planted.
