War updates

  • The heaviest fightings are continuing around the city of Bakhmut, which has been under Russian control for several months.
  • The total combat losses of the russian army from 24.02.22 to 11.08.23 are approximately 252 780 (+580) people.

Liberated area
The Defense Forces of Ukraine have liberated a territory, which is a little bit more than Moldova (33,846 square kilometers).


Since February 24, 2022,
more than 40,000 square kilometers of Ukraine have been liberated, which is:

  • slightly less than two Israels (22,145 square kilometers);
  • more than 15 cities like moscow (2,511 square kilometers).

 

Missile strike on Pokrovsk (Donetsk oblast) – 7 people killed

  • russia hit the town with two missiles.
  • One of the missiles was launched during the work of rescuers, who were searching for victims of the first hit.
  • More than 30 civilians were hurt (including 2 children).
  • Police officers and rescuers were injured, too.

 

Attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia – 3 people were killed and 11 wounded, including an 11-month-old kid. 

  • russia hit hotel Reikartz in Zaporizhzhia;
  • That day, russian occupiers carried out 82 attacks on 21 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
  • Reikartz Hotel served as a hub for UN humanitarian aid workers in the city.

 

Attack on Ukraine with Kh-47 Kinzhal missiles

  • In the morning, russia launched four Kh-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • One Kh-47 missile was shot down in Kyiv oblast.
  • Three hit near the airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (eastern Ukraine).
  • Civilian infrastructure has been hit.
  • The missile hit the territory of a private house where a family with three children lived. An 8-year-old boy was killed.

 

Export

July – export of agricultural products fell by a third compared to the previous month – 3.7 mln tons.

The structure of export:

  • grain – 62%;
  • vegetable oils – 15%;
  • oilseeds – 9%.

 

July 292 K tons of agricultural products were shipped through the “grain corridor”.

The anniversary of the launch of the grain corridor (updated information):

  • China received the most food through the grain corridor.
  • Half of Ukraine’s exports of grains and oilseeds passed through the corridor.
  • The main commodity that passed through the grain corridor was corn.

Harvesting

As of August 11, 2023, almost 23 mln tons of grain of the new crop have already been harvested

It is around 20% of the forecasted grain and oil crop harvest.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine updated the forecast for the production of grain and oil crops:

  • about 56.4 mln tons of grain;
  • 20.3 mln tons of oilseeds.
