Attack on Kyiv Oblast
January 25, 2025
- russia attacked Kyiv oblast with drones.
- high-rise building in Vyshneve was damaged, and a production facility in the Fastiv district caught fire.
Strike on Poltava
February 1, 2025
- A russian missile struck a residential building in the city of Poltava in the morning
- 14 people killed (including 2 children), 17 injured (including 4 children)
- The attack destroyed all five floors of one of the building’s sections, caused a fire and damaged neighboring buildings.
Export
January 29: Since the beginning of the 2024/25 MY, Ukraine has exported 25.353 mln tons of grain and leguminous crops (3.121 mln tons were shipped since the beginning of the current month):
- Wheat: 10.7 mln tons (in 2023/24 MY – 9.027 mln tons);
- Barley: 2.064 mln tons (in 2023/24 MY – 1.4 mln tons);
- Rye: 10.8 K tons (in 2023/24 MY – 1 K tons);
- Corn: 12.166 mln tons (in 2023/24 MY – 12.465 mln tons).
- Flour: 43.3 K tons (in 2023/24 MY – 52 K tons), including wheat flour – 39.9 K tons.
Since the beginning of the 2024/25 MY, the EU has imported 3.25 mln tons of Ukrainian wheat.
Corn exports to the EU amounted to almost 6.4 million tons.
Planting
Sown areas in the 2024/25 season will remain at the previous level — over 23 mln ha.
Grain crops will cover 11.067 mln ha (48.1% of the total area), including:
- Corn – 4.145 mln ha.
- Spring barley – 790 K ha.
- Spring wheat – 222.7 K ha.
- Peas, oats, buckwheat, millet – over 550 K ha together.
Oilseeds will occupy 8.892 mln ha (38.7% of the total).
The largest share belongs to sunflower (5.171 mln ha), followed by soybeans and rapeseed.
Winter grains have been sown on 5.2415 mln ha.

Power of Agro Changes
- On January 23, 2025, the awarding ceremony of the winner and finalists of the competition “POWER OF AGRO CHANGES” took place.
- The event with the support of the USAID Agrarian and Rural Development Program – AGRO, brought together innovative farmers who implement modern solutions to increase the efficiency of farms.
- The competition collected more than 120 applications from all over Ukraine
- The expert council selected 9 finalists, and another one was selected by online voting.
- The TraveliteAGRO team also joined the competition and supported the finalists. We provided a free one-year access to all training courses of the TraveliteAGRO school and free access to the online part of Field Agricultural Coiunsil 2025.
