Situation on Donbas

  • russian troops are continuing to push on the Lyman, Siversk, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes.
  • Pokrovsk and Kurakhove remain the focal points.
  • The front line is only a few kilometers away from Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast. Nearly all critical infrastructure in the city has been destroyed.
  • The city is located at the crossroads of important rail and road routes.

January 18, 2025
Attack on Kyiv

  • russia launched an attack on Kyiv early in the morning on January 18.
  • Three people were killed: two men, aged 43 and 25, and a 41-year-old woman.
  • The entrance and exit of the Lukianivska metro station were affected.

January 17, 2025
Kryvyi Rih

  • On the afternoon of January 17, russian forces struck the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
  • 4 people killed.
  • The premises of an educational institution and residential buildings were damaged.

War news

  • In 2024, 35 K square kilometers of territory were surveyed and demined in Ukraine.
  • 17 K square kilometers were returned to use.
  • 73 mine action operators and 200 mechanical demining vehicles were engaged.

Export

  • In 2024, 9,061 ships passed through the Black Sea corridor.

 

Total Grain & Leguminous Crop Exports (2024/25 MY):

  • 23.616 mln tons as of January 15.
  • 1.388 mln tons exported in January alone.

 

Breakdown by Crop

  • Wheat: 10.326 mln tons (January: 413,000 tonnes).
  • Corn: 10.868 mln tons (January: 959,000 tonnes).
  • Barley: 2.008 mln tons (January: 9,000 tonnes).
  • Rye: 10,800 tons (No January shipments).

Grain from Ukraine

  • Ukrainian grain exports exceeded 1.3 mln tons in early January
  • Ukraine has already sent sunflower oil to Mozambique within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
  • Almost 416 tons will arrive in early February.
  • The other 73.4 tons of oil and 970.5 tons of flour will be in Djibouti (Africa) at the end of January.
  • 453 tons of sunflower oil will soon be shipped to Tanzania.

 

  • Ukraine aims to export 43 mln tons of grain in 2024-2025 MY:
  • 25 mln tons of corn.
  • 16.2 mln tons of wheat.

  • In 2023-2024, Ukraine exported over 50 mln tons of grain.
  • 29.3 mln tons of corn.
  • 18.4 mln tons of wheat.
