The Harm to the Infrastructure of the Village Moshchun (Kyiv Oblast)
Village Moshchun in Kyiv oblast is the symbol of the inviolability of the Ukrainian district. It is one of the most destroyed villages in the Kyiv region, an example of the deliberate destruction of infrastructure, human homes, and everything that happened along the way. Moshchun was the turning-point battle of Kyiv, as many villages and towns nearby played an important role in the liberation of Kyiv. It is known that the main goal of the russian invaders was to capture Kyiv and kill the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, which they did not achieve. Unfortunately, they took revenge on such towns and villages near Kyiv. Russian forces used all possible weapons here, including missiles and aircraft bombing. According to the project, which was conducted to assess losses, damage to the infrastructure of the village of Moshchun exceeds UAH 1.1 billion. Two thousand buildings were destroyed and damaged (including 921 private houses). Besides, 20 industrial buildings, 18 greenhouses, 3 shops, 2 hotels, a school, a church, a house of culture, and a post office were also destroyed and damaged. The largest amount of losses was caused by the destruction of private houses – 32.6 million USD. It is just a story about one village in the Kyiv region. If you look at the villages that suffered the least, every 10th house was destroyed and needs to be rebuilt.
