Massive Attack on Kyiv
August 28, 2025

  • Russia launched 598 drones overnight, as well as 31 missiles;
  • Ukrainian air defense intercepted 563 drones and 26 missiles;
  • 63 people including 11 children were injured.
  • 25 people were killed, including a 2-year-old baby.

On July 29, Russia launched its deadliest attack against Kyiv this year, killing 32 civilians in a massive combined strike.

War Updates

  • In July, russia attacked Ukraine with 4,136 shaheeds and decoy drones;
  • In August — an average of 133 drones per day.
  • Over 1,500 Ukrainian cultural heritage sites have been destroyed by russia. The largest number is in the Kharkiv region.

 

Export

As of August 29

The volume of grain and legume exports from Ukraine in the 2025/26 MY amounted to over 4 mln tons (40% less than in the previous season).

  • Wheat exports reached 2.55 mln tons (25% less than last year).
  • Barley exports amounted to 562 K tons (49% less than last year).
  • No rye has been exported since the beginning of the season.
  • Corn exports totaled 882 K tons (2.5 times less than last year).
  • Flour exports from Ukraine amounted to 9.2 K tons (12% less than last year).

Harvesting

As of August 29

  • Ukrainian agricultural producers harvested 28,370.6 K tons of early grains and pulses from an area of 6,887.6 K ha.
  • A total of 61% of the area has been threshed, including:
  • Wheat – 21,858.2 K tons from 5,000.5 K ha;
  • Barley – 5,159.2 K tons from 1,343.0 K ha;
  • Peas – 585 K tons from 262.3 K ha;
  • Other grains and pulses -746.4 K tons from 266.7 K ha.
  • Rapeseed harvest has already reached 3,193.3 K tons from 1,273.5 K ha.
  • Soybeans – 10.4 K tons from 7.29 K ha.
  • Sunflowers – 13.2 K tons from 15.4 K ha.
