Kyiv under attack

  • russians attacked Kyiv on the night of 5-6 June.
  • three members of the State Emergency Service have been killed while dealing with the aftermath of enemy strikes.
  • Nine more emergency workers were wounded.

Combined assault

  • russia launched 499 drones and ballistic and cruise missiles on Ukraine (June 9, 2025)
  • The impact of enemy aerial weapons was recorded in 10 locations, while debris from downed weapons fell in 17 locations.
  • The main target was Rivne and the surrounding region.

 

Memorial Day of the dead children

  • June 4, we honor the memory of the children whose lives were cut short due to the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
  • russia has killed at least 631 Ukrainian children.
  • Over 2,000 are considered missing.
  • More than 18,000 have been forcibly displaced to Russian territory.
  • 19 children have suffered sexual violence.

Planting season 2025

  • As of June 6, 2025, 5.6 mln ha of spring grains and legumes have been sown.
  • The planting campaign is practically complete.
  • A distinctive feature of this season is the increase in the area sown with spring wheat, which currently stands at nearly 220 K ha.
  • 7.7 mln ha of industrial crops have been sown, mainly sunflower (4.9 mln ha) and soybeans (2.3 mln ha).

Export

As of June 6, the volume of grain and legume exports from Ukraine in the 2024/25 MY totaled over 38.6 mln tons, which is 9.1 mln tons or 19% less than in the same period last season:

  • Wheat: 15 mln tons (15% less than last year).
  • Thus, 92% of the total wheat volume agreed upon in the grain memorandum (16.2 mln tons) has been exported.
  • Barley: 2.3 mln tons (5% less).
  • Rye: 10.8 K tons (7 times more than last season (1.6 K tons)).
  • Corn: 20.8 mln tons (23% less).
  • Flour: 65.8 K tons (302% less).
  • On June 6, the preferential trade regime for agricultural products between Ukraine and the European Union (autonomous trade measures) expired.
  • Ukraine and the EU have a preliminary agreement that the free trade area (FTA) agreement will be reinstated at 7/12 of the original quota volumes.
  • This regime will remain in effect until the amended agreement is adopted.

Demining in Ukraine

  • Defense Ministry sappers demined 7.7 K hectares of agricultural land.
  • During the last month, sappers discovered and defused 6,818 explosive devices.
  • Since the beginning of the large-scale russian invasion in February 2022, their number has reached 445,680 units.

    According to the ministry’s press service, during the month the following areas were cleared:

    • 7,660.21 hectares of agricultural land;
    • 21.27 km of roads;
    • 9.44 km of power lines;
    • 40.24 km of railways;
    • 5.94 km of pipelines;
    • 0.88 hectares of residential areas.
