Russian Attacks on Ukraine
September 5, 2026
- On September 5, russia launched a large-scale aerial attack, using 167 drones and ballistic missiles.
- In Dnipropetrovsk region, five people were killed and six injured, while in Kherson region, two people were killed and 27 injured.
- The attacks affected at least nine regions, damaging residential buildings, businesses, warehouses, and energy and transport infrastructure.
- In Odesa region, russian forces again struck warehouses storing goods, setting a warehouse containing food products on fire.
Russian Attacks on Kyiv
September 8-9, 2026
- On September 8, russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, following a short pause in attacks on the capital.
- The overnight and daytime strikes killed five people and injured at least 26 others.
- Residential buildings, warehouses, an educational institution and other civilian facilities were damaged across the city.
- On September 9, russian drone strikes on Kyiv killed one person and injured at least 17 others.
- A drone struck a residential building in the Darnytskyi district, while another hit a nine-story building in the Dniprovskyi district, where a 70-year-old woman was killed.
Massive russian Attacks on Ukraine
September 10-12, 2026
- Between September 10 and 12, russia carried out a series of large-scale drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, targeting Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy and other regions.
- On September 10, a russian drone attack on Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, killed four people and injured more than 60, including three teenagers.
- The same day, russian strikes on Dnipro hit a major sunflower oil processing facility, killing two people and injuring five.
- During the night of September 11–12, russia launched 129 drones, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, eight Kalibr cruise missiles and six guided missiles.
- The September 12 attack killed 11 people and injured 96 across Ukraine.
- Odesa region was among the hardest hit, with 35 people injured and a multi-storey residential building damaged.
- In Dnipropetrovsk region, two people were killed and at least 22 injured; in Donetsk region, four were killed and five injured; while Zaporizhzhia region reported two deaths and 11 injuries.
Attacks on Fuel Stations
September 10-12, 2026
- On September 10, a russian jet-powered drone struck a Ukrnafta petrol station in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, injuring four people and damaging the station and a nearby vehicle.
- On September 11, russian drones struck two petrol stations in Kyiv, in the Dniprovskyi and Obolonskyi districts.
- The attacks killed two people and injured 12 others, including a child.
- One of the petrol stations was reportedly struck twice, with the second strike occurring after emergency responders arrived at the scene.
Attacks on Warehouses and Logistics Infrastructure
September, 2026
- On September 13, a russian missile strike destroyed the EVA sorting center in Odesa, a major logistics facility used to distribute consumer goods to EVA stores across Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
- On September 15–16, russian attacks damaged and set fire to commercial warehouses in Kyiv and Kyiv region, used for storing and distributing goods and consumer products.
- On September 16, a russian attack completely destroyed a warehouse of the Olena Zelenska Foundation in Kyiv, where humanitarian aid for children, families, schools and hospitals was stored, including generators, household appliances, laptops, tablets, e-readers and medical equipment.
- On September 20, russian drones set commercial warehouse facilities in Boryspil district on fire, destroying storage and business infrastructure used by local companies.
- On September 23, another russian attack damaged a production and warehouse facility in Bucha district and set warehouses in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district on fire, affecting facilities used for commercial and industrial operations.
- The same attack destroyed a Nova Poshta cargo facility in Vyshneve, a key logistics site used for sorting and handling parcels and commercial shipments.
- According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, attacks against major food, retail and logistics companies increased sharply, with 32 attacks recorded in August compared with 11 in July.
Russian Attacks on Railway Infrastructure
September 17-21, 2026
- On September 8, russian drones attacked three passenger trains.
- A strike on a Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia train killed a railway employee after passengers had been evacuated.
- A separate attack on a suburban train in Sumy region injured 9 people.
- On September 13, a russian drone struck a Kyiv–Warsaw passenger train near the Polish border, disrupting international rail traffic.
- On September 15, a russian strike hit a diesel locomotive in Volyn region, setting it on fire. No casualties were reported.
- On September 16, russian forces struck Kyiv–Mykolaiv passenger train. 168 passengers and crew members were evacuated before the attack.
- On September 23, russian drones damaged railway infrastructure in Kyiv, injuring one railway employee and disrupting rail operations.
- On September 24, russian drones attacked passenger trains in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
- In Zaporizhzhia, a railway employee was killed; in Sumy region, 10 people were injured, while in Kharkiv region, 8 people were injured after two train carriages caught fire.
- Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 500 locomotives have been destroyed or damaged by russian attacks, with more than half of these cases recorded in 2026.
Russian Attack on Kyiv Region
September 19-23, 2026
- On September 19, a russian drone attack on Kyiv region killed a mother and her two young children in the Fastiv district.
- Another child injured in a separate strike in Vyshhorod district later died in hospital, bringing the death toll in the region to four, including three children.
- The attacks damaged 31 sites across five districts. The hardest-hit Fastiv district had 24 sites damaged, including residential buildings, industrial and utility facilities, an agricultural company’s premises and 17 vehicles.
- On September 23, russia launched 161 attack drones against Ukraine, including 82 jet-powered Shahed-type drones.
- The attack on Kyiv killed two people and injured 45 others.
- Strikes damaged railway infrastructure, warehouses, a business center, office buildings, a transport enterprise and other civilian sites.
- A russian drone strike also hit Darnytsia, one of Ukraine’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers, destroying one company building and damaging pharmaceutical production and logistics infrastructure.
- A historic market near Kyiv’s Central Railway Station caught fire, while the station itself was not damaged.
- Russian strikes also damaged data centers of internet providers in Kyiv, disrupting internet services for approximately 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
Ballistic Attack on Kyiv
September 24, 2026
- On September 24, following the previous day’s drone attacks, russia launched several waves of ballistic missile strikes against Kyiv.
- The attack killed two people and injured at least eight others.
- Missile debris damaged residential buildings, a maternity hospital, a medical diagnostic center and administrative facilities, while fires broke out in several districts.
Attack on Agricultural Enterprise in Kharkiv Region
September 24, 2026
- A russian strike hit an agricultural enterprise in the village of Stara Hnylytsia, Kharkiv region, on the morning of September 24.
- Six farm workers were killed — two men and four women.
- Another 12 employees were injured.
- According to the local community head, one of three russian “Banderol” drones/missiles struck a vegetable storage facility, where workers were sorting vegetables at the time of the attack.
Export
September 18, 2026
- Ukraine’s grain and legume exports in the 2026/27 MY amounted to 4.55 mln tons, which is 1.1 mln tons, or 20%, less than during the same period last season.
- Wheat exports reached almost 2.7 mln tons (-43%).
- Barley exports amounted to 402 K tons, down 48% compared with the same period last season.
- Rye exports reached 0.2 K tons, while no rye had been exported at this point last season.
- Corn exports reached 1.8 mln tons, twice as much as during the same period last season.
- At the same time, Ukraine’s flour exports are down 44%, totaling 7.2 K tons.
- Since July 22, cargo throughput at the Greater Odesa ports has fallen 15-fold due to russian attacks on port infrastructure.
- On September 11, a foreign-flagged civilian vessel was attacked off the coast of Odesa, killing two crew members and injuring two others.
- Grain accumulation is putting additional pressure on storage capacity and farmers’ cash flow, making it harder to finance the next production cycle.
- If the blockade continues for more than six months, approximately 7 mln ha of agricultural land could be at risk of reduced cultivation, while the area planted to winter crops for the 2027 harvest could decrease by around 1 mln ha due to financial and logistical constraints.

September 22, 2026
- As of September 21, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 9.4 mln ha, or 47.4% of the projected area, collecting 38.9 mln tons of agricultural products.
- Sunflower: 1.50 mln tons harvested from 756.2K ha, or 14.5% of the projected area. Weekly harvest increased by 973.3K tons, while the harvested area increased by 480.8K ha. Average yield: 1.98 t/ha.
- Soybeans: 655.4K tons harvested from 327.6K ha, or 20.7% of the projected area. Weekly harvest increased by 329.6K tons. Average yield: 2.00 t/ha.
- Corn: 339.8K tons harvested from 67.9K ha, or 1.5% of the projected area. Weekly harvest increased by 171.8K tons. Average yield: 5.00 t/ha.
- Millet: 62.2K tons harvested from 26.9K ha, or 65.6% of the projected area. Weekly harvest increased by 11.0K tons. Average yield: 2.32 t/ha.
- Buckwheat: 37.1K tons harvested from 26.6K ha, or 54.8% of the projected area. Weekly harvest increased by 10.6K tons. Average yield: 1.39 t/ha.
- Sugar beet: Harvesting has started, with 19.3K tons collected from 450 ha, or 0.3% of the projected area. Average yield: 42.89 t/ha.
- Vegetables: Production reached 3.46 mln tons.
- Fruit and berries: Production reached 759K tons
Planting
September 22, 2026
- As of September 22, Ukrainian farmers had planted 1.70 mln ha of winter crops, or 26.9% of the projected area. The planted area increased by 690.5K ha over the past week.
- Winter rapeseed: 958.8K ha planted, or 86.7% of the projected area. The planted area increased by 121.7K ha over the past week.
- Winter wheat and triticale: 662.4K ha planted, or 14.6% of the projected area. The planted area increased by 516.1K ha over the past week.
- Winter barley: 53.1K ha planted, or 8.9% of the projected area. The planted area increased by 40.1K ha over the past week.
- Winter rye: 25.8K ha planted, or 33.6% of the projected area. The planted area increased by 12.5K ha over the past week.
- Mykolaiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions have the largest planted areas, with 101.0K, 91.3K, 86.3K and 83.9K ha, respectively.
